Sometimes you get small PP but get bat odds pre-flop to call.
However, if there is a good chance that you will get an overcall is it worth calling?

** Game ID 557251355 starting - 2005-10-27 20:20:42
** Missed Tackle [Hold 'em] (0.50|1.00 No Limit - Cash Game) Real Money

- saMan_R sitting in seat 3 with $101.86
- Wuzzy sitting in seat 4 with $39.90 [Dealer]
- urbarkad sitting in seat 5 with $16.50
- zcout sitting in seat 6 with $43.27

urbarkad posted the small blind - $0.50
zcout posted the big blind - $1.00
** Dealing card to theblitz2: 2 of Spades, 2 of Diamonds
theblitz2 called - $1.00
AmberCoast called - $1.00
saMan_R called - $1.00
Wuzzy raised - $5.00
urbarkad folded
zcout folded
theblitz2 folded

I folded here because of the odds.
Afterwards I thought that maybe I should have called.
One of the villains had just under 50% VPIP and the other well of 30%.
Both had 9% PFR.

So, worth a call based on the fact that I might get one of those in?

Its a good laydown with the 2s. I think this is a fold with anything short of 7s in the pocket. 5xBB is a big bet for a hand that you are fishing for 2 cards to fill. Anything short of 7s has no realistic chance of living on its own.

You're within the 5/10 rule (call $4 which is less than 5% of your stack). Raiser's stack is an little light, though. You're 7.5:1 to spike a set or better and you're calling $4 to win the pot + the raiser's stack (if you think he'll give you action after the flop). So I think you do have the implied odds to call. I'm more concerned about flopping a set to an overset since I'm holding 22.

Stop being a pussy call, the other limpers will be more inclined to come along as well.

So you like 3 or 4 limpers against your pocket 2s? Best case, you hit your set. Chances are you are still behind one or two of them. And chances are you dont hit your set. Let this one go. Come back again later with real cards.

Actually - I just noticed that this is 6 handed and the OP has the table covered by a fair margin. My bad. Call it.

This rule should be revised to deal only with effective stacks. The PF raiser put about an 8th of his stack in already. There's no guarantee that the other players will come along if you call, and certainly no guarantee that any of them will put anything else into the pot even if they do call PF. There's also the possibility of a reraise behind you, and the fact that you won't even win every time you flop bottom set. If the raiser will make this raise with AK, this makes a call even worse because you won't always stack him when you flop a set, but you will always fold to the inevitable continuation bet when you don't. Easy fold.

$4 to call is more than 10% of Wuzzy's stack, so it's probably a good fold. He's the one you want to tangle with if you flop a set, and he just doesn't have enough money to make it worth your while see a flop for $4.

Now, if Wuzzy had you covered, I'd be inclined to call since $4 is less than %5 of you both your stacks in that instance.
