View Full Version : I just don't know what to do anymore against these donkeys (nc)

10-26-2005, 12:24 AM
Had AA 3 times today and no matter what I raise, they go in. 0 for 3 on AA. Same with KK: 0 for 3 today.

My most recent AA (5 minutes ago), the opponent came in with 10,7 on my big pf raise.

I just don't get it anymore. So much for the math I know.

This is at $100 for nl.

Maybe I'm running bad but it seems none of these donkeys respect raises.

Hey, my last two AA hands got beat. And yesterday I got beat on the river 3 times in the span of 10 mins to lose almost 150$. And by beat I mean I was up 80/20+.

You should be thrilled to see people letting you build big pots with your monster hands. Don't ever forget the Fundamental Theorem of Poker.

Everyone runs cold sometimes. My last 3 casino trips, I've had every single set (8 of them) beaten by a flush, sometimes all-in on a disconnected flop catching two runners, sometimes in multiway all-in situations where I had by far the best hand.

Last trip, I was down about $40 from my $100 (max) buyin, so I rebought after folding UTG. BB was junk. In SB I was dealt AA, and I saw 2 limpers followed by a raise to $15 and a reraise to $40. It was one of the greatest things I've ever seen for me, playing live. I pushed and both players, who both covered me, called. One had AKd and other had 66. Three diamonds on the board.

It's great to see situations like this, because I know the fish are paying me off in the long run. Don't ever change a winning strategy or get down on your play because you've been unlucky. Keep grinding it out and you'll make money in the long run.

yeah, I know what you mean. In the old days when I used to play at paradise 200NL I saw the flop w 97s, flopped a flush and bet very strong to present protecting a hand. Super tight nut peddler pushes and I foolishly insta call. Turn and river came runner runner perfect perfect to make me a str8 flush over his AKs flush.

since this is a no content thread I will whine too

at 200$NL I got all in in a 80$ pot on the turn with a board of A/images/graemlins/heart.gif4/images/graemlins/heart.gif3/images/graemlins/club.gif2/images/graemlins/club.gif with the hand 5/images/graemlins/diamond.gif6/images/graemlins/diamond.gif
My opponent had 5/images/graemlins/heart.gif 6/images/graemlins/heart.gif! and the river was a /images/graemlins/heart.gif. that sucked.

not a bad beat or anything, just a shitty circumstance that capped off a night of other beats and actually caused me to give up for the night [one good decision at least]

To add something. When I first got PT, I joined paradice and started a new roll. After around 20 AA hands, and 20 KK hand, KK was my worst hand followed by AA. My win % was 33% with KK and 50% with AA.

In a few weeks they both shot up to #1 and #2 best hands with win %'s in the 70's.

That story brings a tear to my eye everytime I tell it:)

Maybe they play gapped connectors against you is beacause if they hit a big flop they double up, they respect you raises but not you ability to lay down big pairs on a ragged board.

I lost AA to AKs a couple days ago, all in pre. He made a str8. And much worse than talking sh*t, he left.
