Pokerroom 20K, 700 runners, pays 70, Hero is top 20 stack with about 110 left.

Blinds 400/800

Relevant stacks

MP1 Donkey 18000
CO Hero 25000 has A/images/graemlins/diamond.gif K/images/graemlins/heart.gif
Button Aggressive with short stack 8000
BB 20000

BB is solid, hasn't gotten out of line, saw him overplay AK postflop once, raising preflop about as often as a big stack should, so he's stealing some.

Donkey limps. Means nothing. I've raised his limp 2 out of the last three hands, once with an actual hand that went to showdown, the other time with a bluff that didn't.

Hero raises to 4000. Maybe a bit too much? Not really the question except for how it affects the subsequent action.

Button goes allin for 8K (this is any ace, most pairs, good kings. BB makes it 13000. Donkey calls.

9000 more to Hero with ~ 40000 in the pot. If I push, it's about a 66K pot and I'm getting about 3.5-1.

Hero is scared to death of BB and...

folds and keeps his 21K?

pushes and hopes he can get to the Red Zone?

calls?

Thanks, I needed that. / End thread.

(BB had AA, two hands later AK again loses to JJ, game over. Hate bubbling after having big stack the whole tourney, tripled up on the second hand... cry a river)

Edit: The minraise from BB scared the hell out of me, but clearly it doesn't have to be AA. Even KK I'm priced in unless the other two share my ace.

I don't think this is an easy push at all, given your description of the BB. Look at it from his viewpoint. Table chip leader (or close to it) raises almost 20% of his stack and is then re-raised all in by someone. What hands could he possibly have here that he will casually (basically) minimum re-re-raise with? If he wanted to isolate, all his chips would be in the middle.

He has either AA or KK here unless his cat just jumped on his mouse while it was hovering over the raise button. 4-1 just isn't good enough when you consider that there's every chance that limper and/or button have one or two of your outs against a pair. Even if we add QQ to the mix I still don't think that this is the type of gamble you need to be making. Other, more +EV situations will come along and you can afford to wait for them with your healthy stack.

*EDIT*
If he has KK, keep in mind he has another 8K behind, which messes up your odds to hit your iffy 3 outer. Ick.
