Reason #32 to not reraise with jacks on lvl 1. Turbo muck.

Easy fold here. Pre-flop, I like a call behind the raise.

I fold very quickly, but I reraise that weakass open every time. You play the hand so much worse when you dont reraise IMO, because you have less information and you don't have the lead.

I'm not sure why you reraised. But since you did, that's a pretty easy fold.

I'm surprised at not how many people said they wouldn't reraise, but at how definitive they were about it. Why is everyone so opposed to a reraise?

Reasons to reraise (at the 55 or bigger):
1.Gets out other opponents
2.If original raiser 3 bets, you can be pretty sure you're behind. So you can find out sooner than just calling, seeing a rag flop, and pf raiser pushes putting you in a tough spot.

Reasons to call
1. Sucks to get 3bet and have to fold the jacks
2. Cause when raising, the number of hands that you beat that are going to stick around is drastically reduced. Unless opponent has medium pair and set value, the only hands sticking around after a reraise are qq-aa and maybe ak.

My preference, if a lot of players have already come in, I just call and reevaluate the flop. If not, I raise to protect it. If I get significantly 3 bet, I fold, if the 3 bet is small, I call and try to spike.
Of course, this is under regular conditions and no reads. It's all very player and stack dependent. There are players whose 3 bet pushes I'll call and others that I'll just call their raise pf cuz they only raise with monsters, etc. And 7 people or less, I'm going the distance with my jacks.

If its such an easy muck when he reraises, why is reraising with JJ so incredibly bad? When you call preflop and theres a T high flop what do you do when he puts in a pot size bet?

Depends. Btw, having position is probably THE compelling reason to flat call here.

Indeed. I never reraise JJ in this position. Unless I've played him before and know he's a complete donk.

call....not reraise....dont do that again.....see the flop the next time when its early in the tourny

bigt, double down, what is your objective this early in a tournament? It's like the 5th hand of the tournament. If your hope is to stack someone, calling is the best bet. If you're hoping to pick up 100 chips, then raise.

Just because a flop comes T high, does not mean you are obligated to move allin. I mean, the pot was raised preflop already. If you end up in a situation where you flat call, and there's now 5 new callers behind you, you play the flop differently. But if there turns out to be just one caller behind you, then you get to play JJ in a small pot. I really like calling with JJ here.
