THE FAMILY GUY
Now running on the cartoon network(cable) every weeknight at 11:00 PM.
Yes, it is animated. Yes it is hysterical.
If you have ever lived in New England, I guarentee you will see it's genius.
Setting: Small Rhode Island Town.
Characters: Father, Mother, son, daughter, talking baby + talking dog(accept it). The baby is intelligent and is angry at the world.
Created/Most of the voices done by a 26 year old kid from RI, Seth MacFarlane.
If you don't get it, it's probably cos' it's not targeted at your age group.(<40 years)
Peter blows the new Homer Simpson away....
Happy viewing. /forums/images/icons/grin.gif
I'll never understand how this show was cancelled.

I'll never understand how this show was cancelled.
imo, 3 reasons...
1. It was too clever for the masses
2. Poor marketing/timeslot placing by FOX execs. Shoulda put it after the Simpsons.
3. Most people in audience prob never been to Rhode Island.
I heard they had trouble keeping ads.

Interesting to hear that. I can definitely believe that is true. The controversial jokes on that show would be a nightmare for a tight arse sponsor.

"Most people in audience prob never been to Rhode Island."
And we like it that way, too. /forums/images/icons/grin.gif

There are DVD's available of some of the seasons, FYI. My friend ordered them after downloading some of the shows off the internet.
I don't think Al Gore had this in mind while creating the internet. (http://www.kazaalite.com)
I would not be surprised if the above linked item (along with things like this (http://www.qcast.com/)) is responsible for some major changes in the way the entertainment business works in the next ten years. I think for the most part its utterly unstoppable and will eventually pretty much devour the music industry and to a lessor extent the movie industry. Will be interesting to see what happens.

Tried the link, got "The page cannot be displayed". Interesting opinion but don't understand without seeing the link...
er wrong suffix. Try this. (http://www.kazaalite.tk)
I agree with you.
I just want it noted that being able to download media over the internet caused my friend to buy the DVD's. This is also the way I purchased many of the CD's I own. I downloaded what I wanted to hear, decided I liked it, and bought the full album. This is much more effecient than waiting by the radio waiting for a specific song to play. In some cases, downloading from the internet can increase sales.
