non-believers can look here (http://biz.yahoo.com/prnews/051024/phm051.html?.v=17) for themselves.

It's going to be impossible for a lot of people to get this time off from work/away from family.

Edit:

hehe, hope that has gotten off to a good start btw.

Edit Edit:
Looked at the sched. I see no H.O.R.S.E. or S.H.O.E., I do see some 2-7 draw though, which would be a first, correct?

Is there always a $10k PLO event?

i think you're right - that could significantly reduce the size of the field. if that's the case, they might end up going back to the crowded week-long structure in 2007.

Most people will get knocked out early. If you are playing into the 2nd week, you will be cashing and may be able to find time for it.

This is a great schedule, 1st day needs only 1 day off from work, without disrupting the work week.

Now all I have to do is win my qualifier.

This is assuming an 8k person field, I doubt there will be that many people.

There may not be 8000, but with it going 500, 800, 2600, 5700, it is reasonable to plan for 8000.

The main event will not sell out but will be 7000+. I predict PokerStars will put in at least 1800 qualifiers but I'm sure they'll work something different with the prize package since I can't imagine they'll buy everyone a hotel for two weeks.

For sake of argument, if the field is 8000, then money should be at 800 which means that the bubble will occur mid-day, Day 3. The bubble for 2005 was early day 3.

This, of course, is my uninformed, pulling it out of my ass opinion.
