Villain 33/12/2
Not particularly donkish.
Second orbit at the table, I've raised often but what was shown was solid values.

Like/dislike the line ? What would you do ?

Did UTG villain check the turn?

I like it, especially because you'll get $$ from the naked K /images/graemlins/spade.gif that you wouldn't get if the river blanks.

I also like the river. /images/graemlins/smile.gif

Maybe I'm missing the whole damn point of a poker board...
Isn't it supposed to go : someone posts a hand, others read it and reply with thoughts on the line ?

Now if you'll excuse me I'll go to the doctor to get my tires changed.

Yeah sorry fixed it, he did check the turn.

Preflop/flop look ok.

Turn looks like only two options, check/call or all-in. I might check. Villain cold-called your pfr, called your flop bet, is already somewhat pot committed; I don't know how much FE you have on the turn. But maybe checking just costs you when you're ahead.

What did you put villain on?

I like your play.

you are not deep enough to check behind on the turn.

On flop, I thought /images/graemlins/spade.gif with a pair, maybe even K/images/graemlins/spade.gifQ, TT-JJ/images/graemlins/spade.gif. Remotely flush, but since he didn't raise the flop I half-ruled that out. I believe a set would raise flop also.

I usually check the turn here. if he's behind, he's got 3 outs tops unless he's drawing for a straight which would be unlikely, and he would have 6 outs

IMO a flop bet, turn check, river bet looks more suspicious

you have an invulnerable best hand
it doesn't matter what your line is

Why does he need to be deep to check behind here?

soah

Because he can't get blown off his draw when he is short.

consider the two cases where you and villain each have 1 psb left on the turn versus the case where you and villain have 2 psb or greater. in the first case, you bet hand over and just hope that in the long run your pot and fold equity on the turn make it a +ev move. in the latter case you have to deal with the % of the time where villain can checkraise. a great % of the time, a turn checkraise means that our equity is ~20%. we don't want to bet the turn and be forced to make a fold when we could have seen the river for free. you miss out on the chance to get value from his range of weaker hands as you are able to when you both only have 1 psb.

Ah. Makes sense.
