I had my favorite three-year-old (MFTO) at my house this weekend, so I was trying to find something fun for us to do. I had heard radio spots for Disney/Pixar's Finding Nemo on Ice. I hit up ticketmaster.com and found that two seats, about 20 rows up was gonna cost me about $60, so I sprang.
I live in a new house on a new part of town, and I have not yet figured out how long it takes me to get everywhere, so we left too early. I figured this out right away so we took a detour by Keva Juice.
Keva Juice is basically a glorified "healthy" version of Orange Julius. Some girls I work with swear by the place, so I went to see what the draw was. I got MFTO the only non-healthy thing in the place, a chocolate malt. She liked it. I had some thing with raspberry juice, rapberries, blueberries, and low-fat yogurt. I like raspberry seeds stuck in my teeth, so I was pleased. MFTO also got an organic carob-chip cookie. Yuck. They mix in for free their "-gizers" which are a secret blend of seven herbs and spices. MFTO had the nutrigizer which was vitamins and minerals that she probably isn't getting at her mom's house. I had the destressagizer because of what I'm not getting at her mom's house as well.
Ok, we arrived at the Tucson Community Center (still way too early). They had the usual souvenier crap for sale that they usually do at this point. Nothing strikes MFTO's eye so we move in. Ticketmaster is copying Southwest Airlines now. For an extra $2 you can pay for the opportunity to print out your ticket. I took advantage of this option and gave the ticket taker my two sheets of Bright White 20 lb. 8 1/2 X 11.
Once inside they had the same soovaneers.

They had one of those machines that makes little doughnuts. I hit that up for $3 for 13 cinnamon sugar donuts. Disappointment ensued.
MFTO wanted cotton candy. I wanted some too, and delight in anything that makes my fecal matter an un-natural color, so we headed to the stand. I gave MFTO a $20 so she could have the pleasure of purchasing is herself. The lady gave her a pink and blue bag of cotton candy, a latex nemo hat/mask, and $10. The price gouging had begun. You couldn't buy anything there without being forced to pick up a commemorative suevanyeer. Sno-cones were $12, but the Bruce flip cup was free.

We headed down to Section 216, Row M, Seats 10 and 11. When we arrived, Seat 12 was tipping the scales at 300+. Our seats were stored in the upright position. If we were to bring the seat down it would have to go through 1/2 of her left ass cheek, and that just wasn't going to happen in a manner that would make all parties comfortable. There are several things that I am good at. There are several things that I am bad at, and standing up for myself, and confronting people fall into this category. MFTO would enjoy the show from my lap. I would not enjoy the show due to the free latex Nemo cap that came with our $10 bag of cotton candy. But Seat 12 would not be embarassed and I would not have to do anything uncomfortable. I did my good deed for the week by buying a $30 seat for a fat person's ass cheek.
On to the show. MFTO's reaction to the whole thing was worth everything. She enjoyed it. They basically just followed the script of the movie but cut out some scenes for brevity's sake. The costumes were a little freaky. Mostly because the eyes of the fish aligned perfectly with the skaters' breasts.

I wondered if the eyes were hollow and accomodating.
All-in-all, it was creative. Just a little typical of your Ice Capades type show except they had people in fish costumes, and elaborate mechanical whales, sharks, and turtles.

Through the whole show, my main thought was that ice skaters (unlike Seat 12) have great asses.
