this is a general situation i feel uncomfortable in

10/20, 6max

I raise Q /images/graemlins/club.gif T /images/graemlins/club.gif in cutoff
heads up vs a blind

flop is 9 /images/graemlins/club.gif 8 /images/graemlins/spade.gif 4 /images/graemlins/club.gif

check, bet, call.

turn is 2 /images/graemlins/heart.gif (some complete rag)

now, i dont' know whether to check or bet here.

personally, i end up checking very often here, because it seems that, unless they peeled with high card Q or something, they are not going to fold to such a blank turn. i don't want to get check raised and pay 2BB to see the river, and i don't want to have to fire two barrels to be shown 45o.

looking at the hand, we do have tons of outs if we're behind and we're checkraised, so i guess it wouldn't be the worst thing in the world.

what if the flop was 9 /images/graemlins/club.gif 7/images/graemlins/diamond.gif 4 /images/graemlins/club.gif? (no gutshot)

or what if the only probable outs we have are flush outs (no overcards)?

less inclined to bet with fewer outs?

Easy value bet IMHO. Your pot equity is huge. Bet call the turn, re-eval on the river. You might have to fire another shell, even if you miss, as it might be the only way for you to win here.
