I multitable, use PT, PAce etc. My machine struggles to do this, so much so that I cannot use Pacific and PT at the same time. Is my 1.1 Ghz processor or 256MB RAM the likely weakest link (I know I should get a new machine, but I am skint).

Thanks
Mack

Actually you should be able to use both at the same time. The problem is that PT (and some other programs) suck the life out of the cpu. So lower the priority of PT and try now.

And if you want to know what is slowing your computer down I suggest you run taskman with everything running to see if you are out of memory. If you are that is the first problem, then check how much cpu you use, although I suspect it peaks often with that many database questions.

up your RAM to 512, or 1 gig if you can. It should help with the overall performance as well. I'm pretty sure it's not a processor issue (not with those types of programs).

You would be amazed how faster your machine would run if you slapped a full 1gig of RAM in there.
