So this hand just happened. Wonderin what you guys think.

Table had JUST consolidated at this hand as #21 had just been put out.

Some of the players at this table had been at hte previous table with me obviously. That table had pretty much respected my raises and folded to me. I think I showed JJ once, and KQ once (flopped top two). So they should see me as TAG and not stupid.

20 left in this tournament, 990 started.

I have 43k

Blinds are 4000/2000

I find myself with: 9 /images/graemlins/diamond.gif 7 /images/graemlins/diamond.gif

Folds to me in the CO, I make it 10k to go. Button calls, everyone else folds. Flop comes J /images/graemlins/diamond.gif 8 /images/graemlins/diamond.gif 2x

I push. That's 33k into a pot of 26k.

Anyone? Anyone?... Bueller? Bueller?

Standard. I do the exact same.

Although I'd like to see the stack sizes behind you generally, as its always relevent to the PF raise decision.

i probably pas up on the steal opportunity w/ that stack size, but after attempting, that's a pretty sexy flop. Push has good FE on the flop, and you're like 45% when called. Even if you were called everytime, it'd be a profitable push.

Usually. I havent P-stoved it, so I don't know what it is with a reasonable calling range.

But if the villain has higher diamonds we are [censored], and a set is a lot worse than just top pair, and way less than 45%.

I guess I'm nitpicking but we are 45%, only if against top pair.

dont think thats an unreasonable calling range.

That should be a comma, not a dash.

But yeah, your point still holds.
Now I know why you're so popular.

So why are we raising 5x BB at this stage with blinds this big when this is committing about 25%? 4700 chip raise gets the same rags to fold as would 10k.

Read the post again. BB is 4000.

I see. I looked at the # on the right side without even looking at the left. Carry on.

My bad about not posting stack sizes. I think it's a bug in party's hand history aspect that I don't have this hand on my computer because I had just been moved to this table. I guess it doesn't record the first hand at a new table, I dunno (though when I opened the table, I found myself with my cards, ie they were "dealt" before I got there).

Umm I can't quite remember, but villian and I are about the same stack size. I know I'm around 8th in chips in the tournament, and not really by that much (one or two mega huge stacks, the rest have like 60 or 70 I think).

Basically, I saw this as purely about the fact that at my previous table they've all pretty much folded to all my steals.

Ok here come results. I think I just got unlucky here, but I just wanted to make sure that I didn't just totally blow a fairly good stack with decent position to get to the FT by being stupid.

Results in White:

<font color="white">

Villian has AA (can't remember if with a diamond but I don't think so)
I'm teased with a 9 on the turn giving me more outs, but the river is a brick and my hand is no good.
