Can I get a witness... by which I mean "a read on BB"?

The only suspect part here is the pre-flop cap.

Given that you capped pre-flop, you took the correct line: bet the flop, check behind the turn hopefully with outs, and call the river. You probably don't have enough value against the range of BB three-betting hands to raise the river. Getting three-bet on the river would be painful.
