View Full Version : My new sportsbook is trying to screw me!

Earlier in the week, I opened a new account with a sportsbook that offers very favorable wagers on two team teasers. I placed several bets with them, including about 6 including KC. Well, my other book refunded me on my 2 team teasers immediately, so I was able to replace my bets with them, but when I looked in my account at the new sportsbook, the wagers were all still showing as pending, even though they had a notice on the site that bets were being cancelled involving that game. So I called in to customer service, and was told tht my 3 and 4 team teasers were dropped down 1 team each, which was fine, but that my 2 teamers WERE STILL IN ACTION BECAUSE IF THE OTHER TEAM LOST, I LOSE MY BETS! Of course, if the other team won, then I get my $$$ back. That's right, they think they get a freeroll on my $$$. SO when I called in to speak to a manager this morning, they told me the same thing, that they have a freeroll on my bets, and that this is company policy. Well, I raised enough of a stink to get all the wagers cancelled, saying I was going to close my account and post all over about how they were screwing me. Then, i started looking around on their website and found this in their teaser section;

[ QUOTE ]
Teasers

A teaser can only be played in football and basketball. The teaser is 1 wager consisting of 2 or more propositions in which you are allowed to adjust the point spread in your favor. If there is ANY loss in a teaser, the entire teaser results in a loss!! Otherwise, if the teaser contains a push, no action, or tie, the teaser will revert to the next amount of teams, paying the odds of the new teaser. In the case of a two-team teaser, if there is a push, no action, or tie, the wager will be refunded.

[/ QUOTE ]

Oops.

So I call back to the manager I spoke to before, and she seems pretty rattled now, and said they would need to change what that said on the website. SO i'm pissed off that I've got 6 or 7 bets that I should have a strong +EV on my KC teaser win that are now all cancelled, and they make it seem like they did me some kind of favor by cancelling the bets for me. I told them I am cashing out as soon as my bets clear, and I will be sure to let people know that this is why they can offer better teaser odds; because they screw people in instances like these. If I wasn't diligent about this kinda stuff, I'd be screwed, and I'm not happy about the fact that there are likely plenty of people out there who WERE screwed. They offered me a free parlay or something, but I was too pissed off to even get into it with them, so I told her to just email me with their proposal. At this point, I'm trying to chill out a bit, so I am not quite yet going to expose their name, but if this whole situation is not handled to my satisfaction, i will post who they are here for people to be wary of.

P.S. Anyone else ever have this problem anywhere before? It's one thing if a game doesn't go 55 minutes and the other game is a loss; noo biggie, i take a loss then, although I know at least SOME books refund there, but when a game is just moved up 2 days and there is time to change wagers, there is no reason they hould get a freeroll on my $$, IMO.

Why not post the name anyway? What are the payouts for the teasers?

Even $$ on two teamers. Gonna wait on divulging book tho.

WHY!? Do you not want other people to get even money on 2 team teasers?

Same rule, different emphasis. It says clearly, if there's any loss, you lose. OTHERWISE, a push or no-action turns a two-teamer into a refund. As Willy Wonka would say, There it is, black and white, clear as crystal.

Personally, I wouldn't play teasers at a book that had a rule like that, unless they were paying a lot better than even money. But you did. If you chose this book primarily for its teaser payouts, then it's downright negligent of you to have not read and understood this rule ahead of time.

There are books out there who will give you even money, and will refund ALL two-teamers with a push or no-action on them (whether the other leg wins or loses). You don't need to bet with these guys.

I wouldn't play at this book, either.

As Youtalkfunny points out, there is better value elsewhere. Furthermore, I don't care what the stated rule is, in this case, all teasers should have been refunded right away. This was not a case where there was no action at the time of the event ... meaning that it was likely to happen in the middle of the teaser (like a baseall rainout).

This game was rescheduled for two days earlier and there was plenty of time to reset everything. I understand what the "rule" is for, this isn't one of them. If there had been a teaser that was all ready underway with the KC/Miami game in it, that would be a different story.

which is what this boils down to since you offer no name of the book /images/graemlins/smile.gif

Makes perfect sense to me. You got a problem with that?

Found out that VIPSports gives you even money on 2 team NFL 6 pt teasers if bets are placed Saturday night (12-9AM EST Sun) and Friday night (12-9 AM EST Sat) for NCAAF.

Alright, well, it's 24 hours later, they have not emailed me back , so the book's name www.mvpsportsbook.com. (http://www.mvpsportsbook.com.)

I didn't really want to go off all half-cocked about this, which is why I didn't want to give the name right away. After research and reflection, this is crap, period. So screw them.

If you think any of the books with grades of D or F don't deserve to be there, feel free to post which ones and why you think that. Conversely, if you believe any A book doesn't deserve it, feel free to post that as well. C's are a little more questionable, but there are enough A and B books that are reliable as can be for you to be able to line shop.

I'm just saying, the only difference between a lot of those C books, and the A books, are who pays SBR.

All those A books are quality. I never heard of any of the D or F books. But there are plenty of C's that don't belong there.

I think we can agree on that.
