Is there an argument for just calling the flop raise, rather than 3-betting?

The argument is you dont want to lose SB. If he might call the 2 cold a raise is a must.
But even without him calling I like it if it will buy you a free card on the turn.

i think it's ok since there is a good chance SB will call. it also might buy you a free card, if you're inclined, however you can also induce a turn fold perhaps. i like capping my draws on the flop heads up from time to time to mix things up and promote turn folds.
