View Full Version : Flop a flush, push?

I have 86 hearts on the button. Blinds 15/30. I have 3700 in chips. $2 tourney on Stars. 1st position limps. Second position limps. Third position raises 60 to 90. One caller to me. The way the table has been playing I expect a 5 way pot here. I like my position and my potential to hit a big hand. Tell me if I'm wrong to fold here. Average chip stack is 1900, and I'm top 30 in chips. I decide to call. The SB folds, the BB calls. 1st and 2nd position call.

Flop: 9 4 2 (all hearts).

BB bets 150. 1st position folds. 2nd position calls. Raiser folds. Hero?

I decide to push. BB has 4300 chips. 2nd position has 1300.

Is this a smart/dumb play?

I don't really like a push. The pot is only 450. You should probably raise it up to 900 or so. I'm not sure what calls a push, but i also don't play the $2s. Maybe they'll call with top pair... ehh, push it, why not.

You think the call preflop is okay? Harrington says you like to see a flop cheaply with a hand like this with a lot of players in it..

In the early stages of those $2 dollar tourneys like your suggesting theres no point not to push imo. Top pair or the ace of hearts is the holy city and will call any size bet. Bets like these are what accumulate monster chip stacks early imo. You just have to get lucky enough to catch a flop like that.

Windmill slam and pray to some black carded deity.
