Loose, passive online. Low limit. Players will stay if they something on flop.

5 limpers, I'm on cutoff with AQo. What's my strategy here? If I raise, I may give correct odds for bottom pairs/gutshots to chase post-flop. Should I just call? Or fold?

Per HPFAP21, in late position holding AQo and there are many players in the pot, only call. With many players do not raise with unsuited high cards.

PS: Folding is out of the question. I think you need to work on the fundamentals a bit more.

The difference between raising and calling here is insignificant.

I usually just limp here with AQo. I would raise without a doubt with AQs.

I just call and see what comes on the flop with more than 3 limpers.

I think limping is better.

I'll throw a vote into the "raise" camp. In fact, I'd raise it 98% of the time in that spot.

There was a good thread on this situation in the Medium Stakes forum maybe 5 months ago with regards to the entire field limping to you on the button with AKo. I suggest looking it up.

I agree with Dynasty that it doesn't matter much either way. But since it doesn't I'll usually just call with lots of players. I think it adds deception since I'll almost always raise with it if just one or two limpers are in.

In the cutoff, I tend to raise with AQ off, if I was on the button in the same situation, I would tend to limp. This hand will play best, in situations where top pair is going to be good, so I think that limping is OK, but at the same time, I think that having the button adds value to any hand, so I would probably raise in the cutoff to make it more likely that I had the button for the rest of the hand.

I think I agree with Bob T here. Limp from the button and raise from the CO.

The problem with this comparison is that AKo is a much better hand than AQo.

So if you have 5 or 6 callers in front and you're one before the CO, would you raise there?
