None of those hold a candle to the abominable "More Than a Feelin'" remake done by 'NSync. I almost tore my ears off when that darn chick put it on.

I Disagree with Kashmir, I think it was pretty well done.
Worst song remake ever would definately be the remake of music, I forget which people redid it but it was terrible.

I love Rock n' Roll by Britney Spears.

ugh.

McArthur Park - Donna Summer A song about leaving a cake out in the rain is bad enough, remaking it is unpardonable.

That's what I was going to say. Taking the music to a song and completely changing the lyrics does not constitute a remake.

Regardless, it's one of the few rap songs I like.

The Sheryl Crow one is awful...and some yahoo did that version in karaoke the other night...ugh.

Also...

"Drift Away" by Uncle Kracker...even though they had Dobie Gray with them, who was either senile, needing money, or both.

"I'm a Believer" by Smashmouth...not that the Monkees were all that great, but Smashmouth may just be one of my five least favorite bands.

"Ice Ice Baby" by Vanilla Ice...who the hell rips off Bowie?

Oh yeah. It's the Boston song. The turned it into some steaming pile of a capella with a back beat. You can listen to a 30 second preview in the iTunes music store. That's all you'll be able to take. If you do, I assume no liability if you kill your speakers, yourself, or the first person you encounter.

"Twist and Shout" by the Beatles. Oh, wait, we're doing the worst?

Sheryl Crow for sure. Also, I loved David Lee Roth, but his version of "California Girls" was far beneath the Beach Boys' original. (DLR's vid was pretty good though).

You Americans probably haven't heard of this one, but the worst remake ever is 'Unchained Melody' by 'Robson and Jerome'.

I'd rather test a cheese grater on my goolies for a week than hear this again.

The Korn version of Another Brick in the Wall seemed completely pointless to me.

Someone else did a remake of Drift Away that was 110 times worse. It was some younf Micheal Bolton type. have no idea the name.

My vote for Overkill remake of "Girl, you'll be a Woman Soon" you cannt remake Neil you can only parody.

"Battle of Evermore" by Lovemongers (on "Singles" soundtrack). I just hate it for some reason.

Apparently, Dolly Parton did a cover of "Stairway to Heaven". I've never heard it but I can't imagine it doesn't make this list.

Sorry, didn't mean for this post to have a theme.

That's hard to believe, and probably qualifies instantly as worst remake.

I mean, "Landslide" and "Sympathy for the Devil" are good to begin with, so a remake is bound to disappoint.

But "Ghostbusters"? How do you not improve on that?
