A $10-$20 game full of regulars.

A loose agressive player open raises early. This could be a vast variety of hands including A9+, any pocket pair, or any suited connecter above 6. Also, post flop this particular opponent will push any piece of the flop, his pocket pair, or his ace(if he believes it is good).

It's folded to me in the small blind and I have
A /forums/images/icons/heart.gif Q /forums/images/icons/diamond.gif

I three bet and get it heads up.

Flop is
4 /forums/images/icons/diamond.gif 2 /forums/images/icons/diamond.gif 8 /forums/images/icons/diamond.gif

I check, he checks.

Turn is 4 /forums/images/icons/heart.gif
He bets, I call.

River is 9 /forums/images/icons/spade.gif

He bets, I call.

I had very specific reasons for doing what I did, but the other players at the table questioned my play(I don't mind this, but it made me curious what most people think).

i can understand not checkraising a bad player on the end just for the sake of not making him leave or tighten up out of embarassment, but with him in front, i don't get failing the river raise here
