the $6-12 has been tighter than usual. They are still playing poorly but there are fewer to the flop and they are not calling as many raises.

based on my limited limit experience up there, I kinda think that might be a good thing.

You don't like roller coasters?

It is not possible for a casino 6-12 game to be tight.

How would TV poker make these clowns play better? It's not like they give very solid limit poker advice during most of the shows I've seen.

I think he meant the presence (is that the rigt spelling?) of the WSOP at Caesar's is making the games there better.

And I'm not really a limit player so I'm just not used to the roller coaster

Have you seen the new FSN show Play Like the Pros or some such nonsense (I don't think that's the right title)? It's basically Chris Rose with the Full Tilt pros giving tips on basic poker play. I've got a wishlist for poker on my TiVo (which really needs to go - there's so much poker crap on tv) and it picked this thing up. I watched one episode and it was about slow playing. The show was brutal - they went on for half an hour about not slowplaying unless you have the nuts. Every two minutes, Chris "Douchebag" Rose would chime in with some comment about how much he sucks at poker and Howard Lederer would pretend like he doesn't want to beat the [censored] out of him.

I'm pretty sure this is the show that's going to make the fish better.

What the hell are you basing this platitude on? I've played lots of 6/12, mostly at Borgata but also at MGM Grand, Mirage, and a few other spots, and while the games are mostly loose-passive, you'll occasionally find one that is ridiculously tight-passive. This usually happens when you get some of the more selective old nits at the table with you -- the ones who open call QQ in late position, and tend to fold AKo to a raise since it is "a drawing hand."

You guys go off on more tangents than
geometery class.

Okay, let us start at the beginning.

The WSOP circuit events are currently at Caesar's In. The $6-12 Texas Holdem game is full of fish but the last two days the 6-12 Texas Holdem Game has been TIGHTER (Not tight just tighter) than usual.

I wondered if the presence of the WSOP and the fact that there is so much more attention on poker than usual is inspiring the fish to attempt to play better.

I didn't say they played well, I didn't say the game was tight all I said was it was playing differently and I wondered if it was due to the influence of the WSOP Circuit Events.

I absolutely did not say that TV was making the fish play better.

This thread makes me wonder if you guys ever play 6-12 at Caesar's IN.

Where is this "IN" place you speak of?

My Lord they are everywhere. IN is the postal abbreviation for Indiana.

You know, in your original post you mention nothing of the circuit event in Indiana. My response was pretty much based on what was stated, which made me think you were talking about the popularity of the WSOP, mostly thanks to TV.

Fixed your title.

I don't think this is a bad thing. Some players will improve, but more players will be attracted to the game overall. This is good.

I played last night after getting knocked out of the first event. Both the 10/20 kill and 6/12 were just as loose as usual. There were only 2 or 3 6/12 tables going, so it wasn't a very good sample, but they looked to be the same.
The two 6/12 games I played in last Saturday and Sunday were tighter, but still allowed me to clear 9k....of course, that was because we hit the bad beat jackpot. :-)

Yes - I knew what steam is talking about.
but his post just said "WSOP is making the 6/12 a bit tighter".
And there is EVERY reason for most readers to assume that he is talking about the MAIN WSOP and the ESPN coverage of it.

Not specifically the WSOP-circuit event that is taking place at Caesar's Indiana (which is in the Louisville area).

Steam - while we've had quite a few threads about the Caesar's circuit event, those who weren't familiar with it or didn't care about it obviously didn't open these threads so knew nothing of it.
This thread was all about "WSOP and it's effects on 6/12".
There was no mention of Caesar's, Indiana and you said "WSOP" instead of "WSOP-circuit".

The problem with the confusion here was in the lack of clarification...it had nothing to do with the readers and responders.

Also - 1 table on the first day is a pretty small sample.
Might get crazier on the weekend. Might have been crazier on a neighboring table.
Not sure.

Okay, I was sleepy when I made the OP. I have played every evening since Monday. It was wild and loose tonight. I was at a table with Becie, Diez and some guy from Bardstown KY that I think might have had mental issues.

I never play well against Maniacs and tonight was no exception. Booked my first losing session in three weeks. I can write some of it off to variance but I didn't play well either.

Temporarily, maybe. Then the fish that do actually listen a bit will realize that it's no fun not playing many hands and revert back to their old ways fishy ways.

The fish just aren't going to get significantly better based on one series of shows. They haven't really done it with all the books and DVDs available either.
