5/10 6-max
No reads on villain, stacks about 1k or so.

Hero is button with 3/images/graemlins/heart.gif3/images/graemlins/diamond.gif
Villain is in the SB

Preflop
1 limp, I limp, blinds play.

Pot (40)
A/images/graemlins/club.gifK/images/graemlins/diamond.gif2/images/graemlins/spade.gif
checked around

Turn (40)
3/images/graemlins/club.gif
villain leads for 20, MP calls, I make it 80, villain makes it 200, MP folds, I call

River (500 or so)

Villain leads for 300, and I call

Anybody play it different against an unknown? Anybody push river/4-bet turn ?

There was no preflop raise, so that elimanates AA or KK in my book and there is no straight or flush possiblities so it looks like, 22, A2, or K2 in my book. I would push the river since the villan has already put 50% of his stack in

Since villian is a blind and this is an unraised pot, I think you played it good.

I think that the important part about this pot is to determine how to extract the most from two pair. Anything that has you beat (oddly played big pair, or 45) isn't going anywhere, and bottom set isn't nearly as likely (and might get away anyway).

Four bet on the turn lets off all the two pair hands.

A river raise might get called, but I doubt it, unless villian is pretty bad, or hero has a really good image.

Villain had K2 and MHIG. I feel like I left money on the table, but I was conscious that villain was a blind, that the pot was unraised and that 45 was certainly a possibility.

Push river. Most likely he has two pair.

ok... i wasn't sure. I definitely disagree with this advice unless villain is a known idiot. I think villain often raises AK preflop, meaning that i think only 22 (6 combos) and AK (say 2 combos since he often raises), along with AA/KK (1 combo total- anyone raises these), and 45 (16 combos). Lets say he is a big idiot, and will call with say 10% of his 2pair hands(~60 combos total- so 6 that call).

Even with this extremely fishy hand range for villain Hero only beats 14/31 combos. Imo most people fold almost all of their 2p hands, and also 22 a fair amount of the time.

IMO calling>>>>folding>pushing.

Despite numerical combination considerations, his play is most consistent with K3/A3. After that, 22 seems most likely. Whatever he has, he seems like he really likes his hand and is unlikely to fold having come this far. So either you are behind a very tricky AA/KK (highly unlikely) or 45 (most likely hand you are behind, IMO). Seems like there is value to the push once you add in slowplayed K2/A2 on the flop.

I agree with your read on this hand, but do we really assume that an unknown in the 5/10 game is willing to stack off in an unraised pot with A2 or worse here?

people stack off with 2 pair here all the time

I think waiting til the river is best. The majority of randoms will not fold two pair on this board. He knows we cant have AA or KK too, which makes it a lot easier for him.

If this is true against the majority of the players here, I need to start taking more shots at this game.
