What happened to Art Sathmary (?) and John Fox ? NM

I've seen Art within the last few months or so playing at Commerce. Rick Nebiolo might be your best source of info. on his current whereabouts.

Al,

Art Sathmary, a.k.a. the almost legendary ASQ, works as a green chip prop at the Bicycle Casino. Technically, I'm his boss but he doesn't need much bossing /forums/images/icons/grin.gif

He is in fine spirits and health and is one of the nicest people you could ever meet. Art just celebrated his 75th birthday but looks at least ten years younger.

The last time I asked Art about John Fox, he indicated John is out of poker and in declining health. Art also denies that there is much truth to the ASQ stories in John's book. But a while back I posted some ASQ stories. Here are the links to two of them:

Many years ago we were playing draw at the Normandie. We decided to play jacks back, which was illegal, so we kept it on the QT. Art sits down and the first hand ggoes to low and Art raises. I have a pat 6 and reraise. The guy on my left 4-bets. Art calls both raises. I raise again and the guy on my left raises yet again.

Art looks at me and then at the guy on my left and says, "Don't you guys know who the hell I am?" We all 3 break out laughing. Art folds.

Art was/is indeed a terrific guy.
