I hate the way I played this hand after the flop, and in retrospect even on the flop. Thoughts?

I think it's fine. I might check the river. Was your river bet for Value or a Blocking Bet?

I think you could have bet less on the turn. If your opponent calls, then he's more or less pot committed. If you bet 150 then you keep the pot smaller.

Did your opponent fold, call or raise?

At the time, I thought the river bet was a bet for value, I was thinking he was a calling station. What makes this a little more difficult to read is that I'm OOP (which I should have recognized sooner).

This (almost) exact thing happened to me last night. I've been playing more aggressive post flop in situations like this. My villain called my bets all the way down, never raised me and flipped over a 66 after calling the river. Very Frustrating.

Heres what I learned from that. Although each of my bets were about half of yours (except the flop) I needed to do a better job of trying to keep the pot small and/or create a situation on the flop or the turn where he shows me something by raising me. OOP it is very easy to read that the villain is a calling station. In retrospect, I think checking the turn here or betting a lot less will reveal a lot more about villains hand.

FWIW I think the bet on the flop is fine.

I lead the flop and then check/call down.

I think I'd try to C/R the flop and lead the turn if it's checked around on the flop.

LOL, my experience was the same, 66. Funny, he didn't raise me on the river either.

Anyway, for me, this experience taught me to think a little more about my position and pot control.

So how have the 55s been since "the end of the world"?

The line looks fine to me, but the post-flop bets all look too big. 1/2 to 2/3 the size of what you bet would work better, I think, since you have a draw. Semi-blocking, semi-value.

Probably cake. The problem is I'm back playing them now, so all of your fish are belong to me. /images/graemlins/grin.gif
