NO HIP-HOP LINKS PLEASE, there are far too many of those and i'm more interested in the comedy/shock factor.

That's pretty funny. I wonder, did they have to slow down/speed up one of these songs to make it work or are they that perfectly in sync to begin with?

Ghost busters theme seems faster

they probably used the fact that trent released the soruces of the song or whatever and added that to the beat.

Have you heard the ultimate mash-up mixtape?

DJ Z-Trip & DJ P - Uneasy Listening Vol. 1

They mix everything, Depeche Mode, Madonna, Metallica, Del, Phil Collins, Public Enemy, The Beatles, Roy Orbison, Pat Benetar, Pharcyde, etc. It is a really good listen.

If anyone's interested I can send it over AIM later on.

wtf was wrong with the term "remix". This is like the "gaybet" of music terminology.

What? Come on, Dids. A mash-up and a remix are totally different. A mash-up splices two completely different existing pop songs together, often two that have similar chord structures. A remix is just that -- a different mix of one song.

i'm with joker. a remix is just a serious re-interpretation of an existing song, a m*-up is using a different track from the same key, often in some comedic/parody way.

Given my (and others) interpretation of how hip-hop music has used the term remix historically- what you describe is absolutely a "remix".

Now you can argue that a m*-up is a specific sub-genre of the remix, and I might agree with you.

Well that's weird, I only get the option to save the link but I don't the save target as option. Are you using firefox?

I have to use IE at work. Firefox you should be able to set up to just click to "save target as" (that's the the firefox lingo, but it's what it does, saves the file rather than just plays it).

I have about 5 gigs of this guys stuff. It is almost all incredible. A lot of the mix up/mash up stuff is lame because it is done on the computer and doesn't rock-- z-trip does it live, no computer, just a couple turntables, a cd player and an effects box.

i think you are severely limiting yourself by saying no hip-hop. it is too all encompassing. z-trip mixes up like uhh.. 'henry the 8th' with a hip hop beat, so you would call it hip hop but it is funny/surprising. he has an incredible mix of 'dust in the wind' with, again, a hip hop beat that is jaw dropping phenomenal. open up your mind and you'll be happy.

motown mix, not hip hop:
http://www.gradri.hr/~dbukvic/vladow/DJ_Z-Trip/z-trip_-_motown_breakdown_part1.mp3

everything mix, hip hop heavy but has a bunch of funny and surprising parts, done live:
http://www.gradri.hr/~dbukvic/vladow/Z-Trip%20SF_Fillmore_10_17_01.mp3

live on WFNX in boston, some hip hop, mostly rock music though. the first 2 minutes is annoying, listen until the jane says mix comes on:
http://www.gradri.hr/~dbukvic/vladow/Z-Trip%20-%20WFNX.mp3

and those aren't even the good ones, just the ones that are easily available.

Ok, I'll update this as I upload more and more. I've got about 70 GB of bandwidth left for October, when I get down to 20GB left, all the songs are coming down.

First, here are 4 of the ones that I got from a local radio station:

Incubus/No Doubt - Hellamaniac (http://www.f2f2s.com/Music/Mashups/Incudoubt%20(+Devo)%20-%20Hellamaniac.mp3)
Jet/Christina Aguilera - Are You Gonna Be My Dirty Girl (http://www.f2f2s.com/Music/Mashups/Jet%20vs.%20Christina%20Aguilera%20-%20Are%20You%20Gonna%20Be%20My%20Dirty%20Girl.mp3) <--- Great one
Led Zeppelin/Notorius BIG - Whole Lotta Biggie (http://www.f2f2s.com/Music/Mashups/Led%20Zepplin%20vs.%20Biggie%20-%20Whole%20Lotta%20Biggie.mp3)
Pop Music/Public Enemy - Bring the Noise (http://www.f2f2s.com/Music/Mashups/Pop%20Music%20-%20VS%20-%20Public%20Enemy%20-%20Bring%20The%20Noise.mp3)

Ok, now we'll start with the ones my friend made.

Also, I know some of these are/will be hip-hop, but they're good, and not the typical Jay-Z/50 Cent mixes.

Beastie Boys/Cash Money - Body Blingin' (http://www.f2f2s.com/Music/Mashups/Aubrey%20Kidd%20-%20Body%20Blingin'.mp3)

Fischerspooner/The Killers - Fischerspooner Told Me (http://www.f2f2s.com/Music/Mashups/Aubrey%20Kidd%20-%20Fischerspooner%20Told%20Me.mp3) <--- really really good.
