To those who do this whoring thing a lot...

Is low limit (i.e. PL25) PLO or PLO/8 best for clearing a bonus? It seems to me that every single hand is raked. Granted, you see less hands per hour than NLHE or LHE, but you don't have to play 10,000 hands to get 5,000 raked hands.

I enjoy NLHE and PLO/PLO8 equally, but am wondering from a scientific standpoint if it makes more sense to 4 table PLO rather than NLHE to clear a bonus.

Does anyone have any experience on this?

on empire O8 goes faster cause all the limit HE tables are so effing tight, the only problem is im the only person sitting at pl25 right now on the entire empire network

It depends on the site. For the sites that where any raked hand you are dealt into qualifies, then pretty much any low limit PL/NL game would work.

For sites like Stars and PokerRoom for example, they operate on a point system where generally for every $20 pot you are dealt into you get a point.

PLO and PLO8 are great for those kind of sites because the average pots at .50/1.00 and above are almost always $20 or more. Lower stakes games will not exceed $20 as often, but most sites who use a point system give partial points for raked hands that with less than $20 pots(stars is not one of them).

Hope that helps

OK...I did some small sample testing...results:

PL25 Omaha 10max - Empire
40 hands/hr
1200 hands dealt
975 hands raked
81.25% rate
40 * .8125 = 32.5 Raked Hands per hour per table

NL25 - 10max - Empire
50 hands/hr
13,250 hands dealt
8,300 hands raked
62.6% rate
50 * .626 = 31.3 Raked Hands per hour per table

So...about 1 RH/h better playing PLO over this small sample.

Another thought about raked hands for PLO is that every time around the table only costs $.35 in blind at Party and former skins but should get you 7-8 raked hands worth $1 or so. In other words you could just fold the whole time and make money, obviously this would be a pointless grind though.
