i want to try and get 15-20 people to stay in one penthouse for a weekend, does bellagio (or any other hotels) have a limit of people staying there at once? i know they will check keys, but otherwise?

How about just not telling them?

Standard ski trip strategy.

its available and reservable on the bellagio website.

and yeah, i won't tell them, but casinos have a way of finding out everything that goes on in them... i don't want to plan a trip and then tell 12 people they need to find a room the day of.

You can do it as long as you don't tell them how many people you are having. The only problem is you won't have enough keys. Just keep telling them you lost them /images/graemlins/smile.gif

You do know why this won't work, right?

I disagree with not telling them, I think you should ask outright, to avoid problems. Why would you want to risk it?

Somehow I think security at the Bellagio will be sharper than at your typical hotel. They probably also watch the penthouse entrance more than a standard room. After seeing 12 different people going in/out they may start to ask questions. Honesty is the best policy in this case, if they say no make other plans.

I happen to agree that asking them outright is best, jamming people in is unwise.

But making multiple requests for keys is probably not the problem, unless they ask the same person over and over again.

Most high end vegas hotels have guards at the entrance to the room elevators. These guards ask you to show them a key. This will make the ski trip play rather difficult.

Oh and if you think this will save you money, you are wrong. Such a room will be more than a bunch of adjoining standard rooms.

Couple of issues:

1. Check on the number of bedrooms - most suites or penthouses don't have as many as you think.

2. I don't think that wild parties are tolerated at the Big B.

3. Wild parties are welcomed at the Hard Rock and the Palms. The Real World Suite at the Palms has many bedrooms and beds and the Hard Rock has suite with stripper poles and bowling alleys.

If you "lose" it they will reprogram it. You "left it in the room"....after all, your wife's key still has to work when she gets back from shopping....

Oh ya, I forgot. My point was that I have actually done something like this, but with fewer people. I was one of the people that needed a key. I guess the main room host just asked for a backup key or something.

If they can reprogram the door, that is. Many key card locks are standalone. With standalone locks, the keys are programmed for a set period of time and a specific door, and the locks are not touched from the central system. So a lost key is still active, but it is unlikely you can determine which door it unlocks.

The sheer number of rooms in a place like Bellagio makes it more attractive to use a standalone system (expensive to wire, much less likely someone stumbles upon the correct door before they are noticed by security).

However, Wynn spared no expense with Bellagio, and if any rooms are wired, it would be the suites. I'd bet the Bellagio does not use standalone locks.

At other hotels, however....

You can easily get 4 keys to the room. And so long as at least one person the group going up the elevators has a key, everyone with them is going up. I would seriously look into spliting a few cheaper rooms as opposed to one expensive room though. The trips gonna suck when you get pitched and the rest of Vegas is sold out.

And as for sending people down to get more keys claiming they lost theirs...don't do it. They cancel all the keys and reissue new ones.

as a reference point, i've done this at the bellagio at a normal room w/8 people. (2 beds) we had 5 or 6 keys total between us. can't speak to anything else. in general hotels are prety chill, even the B. as long as you don;t destroy too much stuff or count cards at BJ you should be all right in my estimation.

Just one "key" point

The Bellagio penthouses are on congierge floors. You can not operate the elevator without a key.

Unless something has changed since I got married, lo these many years ago

Tell them you are a wealthy Mormon businessman, and you have a large family.

As far as keys are concerned, just create a standard hiding place somewhere on the floor.

The keys are more important for the elevator then the actual door.
