I'd bet out, without committing yourself. You've got a nice stack, and a shortstack very near broke. Others will probably say push and play for first, but I'd say you're already in good contention for first and there's no need to gamble right this moment.

What's the biggie doing with 88 and AJo? You're almost never getting called by anyone else. I think you can go ahead and push, but folding is close. I hate limping here personally, although I'm not completley sure why. Just seems meh. Raising less than all-in is kinda dumb with your stack.

Big stack is passive but loose, typical donk really. He hasn't been using it intelligently and I don't think he would come over the top of a limp or raise without a very strong holding.

Yes, this was also my thinking because the big stack wasn't playing as he "should" (some of the folds after this hand he made were criminal to me, like when I was BB and he was SB, he didn't even complete, bar once).

However - I didn't want to give shorty a free ride against big stack's "any two" at the same time. Against an intelligent player as the big stack I would push or fold here, but because of my read I limped. Shorty and SB folded, BB checked. Flop was ten high, he checked, I bet, he folded.

Not really very interesting I guess.

Well, it's interesting to me: a) because I usually "forget" that limping is an option when blinds are high, b) because I always fold this like a good patient school boy. Nh.

This actually did happen a few hands from this one, sadly shorty had KK then and won the hand, but that was good for me, as the two stacks to my right kept being about equal, so I could push over both of them and neither wanted to call, or from SB into BB. It was a very sweet bubble for me as the big stack was being so ridiculously passive, and it wasn't long before I was the big stack, and went on to win the tourney.
