PokerRoom refuses Swedes and Costa Ricans

I just tried to sign up to PokerRoom and I couldn't. The signup page did not have Sweden as a choice and they had this note at the end of the page: "Residents of Costa Rica and Sweden are prohibited by law from playing PokerRoom.com's games for real money."
Anyone know which law they are talking about? I just checked one of their skins, HollywoodPoker, and they had nothing against us Swedes...

I tried signing up a couple years ago, and they responded with the "current legal situation" in Sweden made it unclear if swedes can legally play online poker.

Or some bs like that

True. In Sweden there is a state owned company wih monopoly on different kinds of gambling 'Svenska Spel'. When PokerRoom is located in Sweden they dont want to mess with them.
