Today, Thomas DeFrank (http://www.leadingauthorities.com/3119/Thomas_DeFrank.htm), the NY Daily News Washington Bureau Chief, reports (http://www.nydailynews.com/front/story/357107p-304312c.html) that President Bush "rebuked chief political guru Karl Rove two years ago for his role in the Valerie Plame affair, sources told the Daily News." According to DeFrank, "the President felt Rove and other members of the White House damage-control team did a clumsy job in their campaign to discredit Plame's husband, Joseph Wilson, the ex-diplomat who criticized Bush's claim that Saddam Hussen tried to buy weapons-grade uranium in Niger." DeFrank says his source is "a presidential counselor."

Before you go and discard DeFrank's reporting as the ravings of a left-wing loon, consider that DeFrank is from Texas, has interviewed Bush 22 times, and is considered very well connected with Republicans. He ghost wrote former GHWBush CoS James Baker's memoirs (maybe Baker is the source?).

Now, remember what Bush said about the leak scandal two years ago while DeFrank claims he was rebuking Rove? Here it is: "Listen, I know of nobody -- I don't know of anybody in my administration who leaked classified information. If somebody did leak classified information, I'd like to know it, and we'll take the appropriate action."

Now, remember that Bush was interviewed by Special Prosecutor Fitzgerald about Plame-gate (http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A3668-2004Jun24.html) back in June of 2004. He was not placed under oath, but lying to a federal investigator would still be a crime. So I wonder what Bush told Fitzgerald then? And I wonder if it was the truth?

Well, this is a much more serious offense than lying about a blowjob, so clearly an impeachment is in order.

I'm sure some neo cons are trying to blame this on the Left but this Grand Jury is being run by none other than Bush's Justice Dept.

One other point, Does anyone remember last year that Bush said he would fire anyone involved in the leak? Hmmmm, I wonder if he knows who it is yet.
