i play 2-4 at pokerroom. the games are usually tight to standard. i feel like i may be costing myself money by not playing enough hands from the small blind. im looking for some advice on which hands i should or should not be playing.

You dont' cost yourself anything by folding. It would be easier if you listed the range of hands that you do play now so we could see where you stand.

i always play low suited connects, suited gappers like 35 24. i find myself laying down ugly suited hands like 102 93 83. also i often fold Kx Qx Jx 10X.

Hands like Txs you could make a completion in a 1/2sb structure. K8o is a completion and you can add the off-suited connectors like 87o, etc. Other than that looks as if you have a decent range.

The range of hands in the BB is usually:
Any pair
Ax and above suited or not
K10 or better
Q10 or better
J10 or better
connectors 7-8 or better
any two suited cards
