A recent immigrant from Afghanistan had been sick for weeks. He was listless and depressed, barely having the energy to drag himself out of bed. American doctors could never find anything wrong. Finally, the doctor contacted an Afghan doctor and set up an appointment for his patient. The Afgahn Doc came in and took a look at him, asked him a few questions and left for a minute.
He came back into the exam room and gave his instructions. "First you get yourself a five gallon bucket. Sheet in zee da bucket and then pees on da sheet. Put your head in the bucket and cover your head wit a towel. Breathe zee fumes for ten minutes."
The patient went home and did as he was told. His symptoms cleared up almost immediately. He called the Afghan Doc and thanked him. He then asked what it was that was making him ill.
"you were homesick."
