View Full Version : Cause for Alarm - 75/150 Level

Ok, I'm a little worried here.

Over 150 Turbo SNGs at Stars (16s & 27s) I show a profit at every blind level except 75/150.

I know it's a small sample size, but it's something I'd like to get a handle on early. It's not a small amount either. I'm losing 0.10BB/hand which is more the -2x as much as I make at any other level. I don't even know where to begin looking.

Any suggestions?

I'm no statistician, but I would think it's just an anomaly.

Let's just say (for the purpose of argument) that you reach this blind level 70% of the time. And lets say (again just a guesstimate) that you play 8 hands in this blind level. Over 150 SnGs.

This gives you 840 hands played. If you went to one of the cash game forums and asked for help on 840 hands, they'd simply tell you your sample size is too small.

I'd just keep playing, and if it showed no signs of improvement then you might have a problem.

yae, exactly what Fenef said... none of your blind level profits mean much if anything at this point.

Bingo. You're playing Party-style on a non-Party site. Adjust your game.

I think the sample size is too small to draw general conclusions. But, not too small to prevent you from looking over the hands from this level to see if you can spot something.

I agree with the sample crowd...but if things dont improve over time and you are playing the same way, then I would think that you are beginning your pushbot technique too early...waiting for that extra t75 -t200 (when the antes start) is key. at 150 blinds and I have AQs and am on the button with 1370, easy push...change my hand to K7 and CO...I would fold because I can wait still.

Would you push that on party??

Push what? Also, # of players, stacks, etc...is important to note. IOW I shouldnt be making blanket statements like that. On party, 1370 will typically be a higher stack.

You have 1k hands at 75/150.

Looking at your play is fine and dandy but I don't see how you think there is necessarily a problem.
