I could fold the river if villian hasn't gotten out of line. You aren't really beating anything, JT/QJ/J9/KJ all just got there, as did Kx/Qx.

I'd call quickly against a LAG however, and may call against a thinking TAG (but most likely not ever)...not necessarily to win the pot, but for future hands.

Shouldn't this thread be called "River call with 2nd pair top kicker where every draw got there and the only J I'm beating is J8 or J7"?

I'm folding this river against a typical player 100% of the time. If I have a strong read I might call, but that's the only reason.

The backdoor flush draw didn't get there /images/graemlins/wink.gif

I fold this river 99% of the time. That is a call me bet if I've ever seen one. Even if he's afraid of the 4-card straight he's probably bluffing you with the best hand.

I deserved the diss /images/graemlins/wink.gif. It was a really bad play over all hehe. Just needed confirmation from outside sources.

Bet the turn because the board just got very draw heavy for a lot of hands which call the flop bet, not to mention that if you are behind you have like 3 outs anyway, so it's no big deal to fold to a checkraise. Check behind on river.
