I got to thinking about how the 2 sites who seem to care the most, aren't getting a significant share of the market.

Why is that? Here are my opinions.

1. Advertising - Other Poker sites are making great strides in how they advertise (Television), and it is attracting large numbers of fish to those sites.

2. Casino Rebates - Deposit Bonuses, Rake Rebates, Freerolls, and jackpots - I think the online casino's have all figured out that deposit bonuses attract fish. I LOVE DEPOSIT BONUSES! I will probably head over to True to pick up that one as soon as I get home. So the issue becomes when the fish get there is there anyone to play against? So you need props or a rake rebate to attract sharks that will sit at shorthanded tables and start new games. Freeroll tournaments are cool, but I wonder if they really encourage ring-game play. This weekend was the first time I sat and played hands so I could get entry to a freeroll. If I could get a Pizza delivered that would be cool also. /forums/images/icons/wink.gif

Software - Speed of play the faster the better. Can I play at multiple tables? Personally, I don't like the viewpoint at Truepoker, I think it should be from above the table, but at an angle so as to still get the 3D effect.

I didn't specifically mention how True or 24h are screwing up because I don't think they are, I think that they are just waiting for traffic to drizzle over to thier sites, instead of going after it.

Truepoker and 24h, why do you guys feel like you're not getting more market share?

I liked playing at True, but I basically gave it up because there weren't enough players. They seem to get more tourney players than ring players. I wanted to play mainly 2/4 and 3/6 but often I had to drop down to 1/2 or go back to Paradise because they had no 2/4 or 3/6 at True. The one I really hated at True are their 3D graphics. I think it is much easier to see what's going on at Paradise or UB. I'm very happy with both those sites.

I like the graphics in theory. I think it is Nintendoish enough to attract all kinds of fish. It's the perspective that gives me a headache. It needs to be like the other sites (above the table), but at an angle to give the 3D effect.

I agree that the graphics probably attract fish, which is good. I just find it too difficult to see what's going on. Especially when the button is at the other end of the table. The problem is worse when you have to look at both the table and the player's hands to see if they still have cards. It's just way to hard and slows the game down. Their servers were often slow, or my connection to them was always really bad. I rarely have this trouble at PP or UB.

Hi again,

I am not at all waiting fro traffic to drizzle. Please keep in mind that we opened up only last September. It takes time to work through a marketing plan and set it into motion.

We are progressing and at peak hours we now have about a 100 cash game players. This is of course peanuts copared to the major sites but we are slowly building traffic.

I again need to point out that we currently have hour peak at 00:00 CET or like 6PM EDT. I am making a lot of efforts to expand the peak hours to the North American market and i sure hope to be successful. time will tell.
