Should this have been played any differently? Only read on villian was that he was loose passive. 45/0/0.42 What hand do you put him on?

I check behind on that river. There is a slight chance he is calling down with A high or another PP but more often than not he has hit something.

Well, since you posted it, I put him on something like Q8s, maybe A/images/graemlins/diamond.gifT/images/graemlins/diamond.gif. I probably check behind on the river against those sort of stats, with 2 overcards, a pair and 3 to a flush on the board.

Check the river.

I can't imagine him laying much down here. A check behind would seem standard to me.

agreed, I should have checked the river. If I run into a situation like this again I will. I put him on A-something no flush draw. discounted A-K, A-J, A-8 as even the dimmest player would raise with a flush or a set of K's or 8's. I wasn't too far off. He had AQo. Sometimes I need to be reminded to never bluff a calling station. Duh!

Yep, check the river. Only a super fish would call with a hand you beat.

Check behind on the river. Also, cut off the fact that he calls your river bet. Including that can skew the results

I agree with other people that a check-behind on the river is right. I think this is especially true in the present case when another King falls on the river.

Sometimes a bad enough player might play the way villain did through the turn with a small/mid pocket pair. (I say bad enough because from his perspective, your most likely holdings are a bigger pocket pair AK, AQ, or KQ -- which beat any pocket pair). So, in general, you can probably already discount his holding any small/medium pocket pair at this point.

However, even if you were willing to consider the small/medium pocket pair possibility, the King on the river counterfeits any pair 77s and smaller, so you wouldn't get a call there. Therefore, the range of worse hands that villain might call with is all the more small.
