For those of you who have read Ian Fleming's "Casino Royal", you know that it revolves in part around James Bond having to beat the villain 'Le Chiffre' in a high stakes games of Baccarat.
The plot very broadly is that the villain's is one of the bets players in the world and after his evil empire has been crippled financially by the authorities he is rebuilding it by using his gambling winnings. Accordingly, Bond is sent to Casino Royal in Paris, to sit with Le Chiffre and bust him.
Well the next bond movie is 'Casino Royal' (with a new actor playing OO7) and rather than Baccarat it's confirmed by the film makers that they will be playing NL HE.
The plot outline currently listed on imdb is: "James Bond must thwart a dangerous Russian spy from winning a No-Limit Texas Holdem game of Poker worth millions."
I got a kick out of this, sorry if this is off topic for the forum, but I see stuff about poker movies here often. Might mean some cameos from known pros, and hopefully a lot more people being exposed to the game for the first time and thinking its cool and worth a shot.
The real question is - what gadgets will we see the villain using to cheat at the tables? And how will Bond use the exploding Ace of spades to get himself out of a jam?
