View Full Version : Can I sweat somebody 6-maxing?

I had my first 6-max session last night, and while I had a breakeven session, I felt/realized I was making TONS of mistakes. If somebody would be willing to let me sweat them (tell me cards as they play if possible, etc) so I can start to see how 6-max is "supposed" to be played, it would be great. The new feel of the game completely threw me off.

One thing you should realize before doing this is that one of the difficulties of playing 6-max is the greater importance of hand reading. Since you can't really study up on hand reading, 6-max requires (in my opinion) more experience and less studying than full ring.
So when you observe someone else play, realize that many more of their decisions are context-dependent than they would be in full ring.

That said, I'm sure you'll find somebody willing to help you out.

is there a micro-limit IRC chat room? I'll probably be playing later (I usually 2-table) and would get sweated/discuss hands with anyone interested.

No, you suck, you're lucky, and you have no idea what you're doing.

If you feel like drinking tonight come down to the house circa 9:30 for some monday night football and the wonderous "tour de franzia." I'd do a bag stand if I didn't have both a test and a paper due tomorrow.

I have a hard enough time going to Ahrensdorf's class without drinking. If I can get someone else to go to ensure that I limit myself so that I can get up at 7:45 then I might stop by.

later
