From todays bonus grind session at Stars. Would you make the same laydowns or am I just weak?

First hand, I might check the turn and call a non-spade river. You can't call the river though so nh.

Second hand, if they villain is passive and I trust my read, I fold too. If he is aggressive, you can call down

Fold both. Hand 1 theres just way too much out there that beats you. Hand 2 Somebody was either slowplaying or caught an A (probably Aces up).

Hand 1, yes fold
Hand 2, yes fold

Marginal turn bet in the first hand. You're likely behind or up against a ton of draws. I might just check it and call a bet if the river blanks.

I don't like letting hands draw for free. Especially not when a fold to a c/r is this easy. Let draws pay on the turn and take a free sd if possible.

The problem is that the hand is likely a toss-up between making draws pay and betting with 1 out.

I think betting the turn is spewing in hand 1, betting the flop may also be with that many players involved. Hand 2 I follow same line, possibly go for check raise on the flop if there is an aggro player who will bet into you.

Mack

Edit: Hand one only 3 handed on the flop I might be wrong, I still think you're up against an ace the vast majority of the time.

But you're planning to call the river, thus invest the same amount anyway. I don't think you'll induce a bluff often enough to make it profitable to check the turn and call the river.

Failing to bet the flop in hand 1 is really bad IMO . When we've gotten to the turn the risk of being up against an A is big, but I think it's worth placing one more bet in this pot (it's big) and I definately think the turn is the correct street to invest it.

I'd play both hands exactly the same.

- Edit - Hmm, or actually I would probably have called the river in hand 2. Although it's maybe the wrong thing to do.

Grunching...

Hand 1: I HATE 4 to a flush on the board! I would lay it down too! I know some will say call one more bet but with so many draws out there and the raisers silence until then...

Hand 2: I would have called one more bet.

Did you have any reads on these villians?

Hand 1: UTG+1 folded. MP2 didn't show.

Okay, here's another KK (ace magnets) hand that I just played. I absolutely hated the river card, but I just HAD to call it...

1. Fold OK. Occassionally, especially if it's heads up, you'll win the pot because Villian will bluff bets the scare card, but not that often. From most typical opponents, your beat 85% of the time. With two opponents, chance of Villian bluffing are very small.

2. Fold good. Same story as above: Especially good as Villian is unlikely to bluff raise two opponents.
