Ok...so I am just curious...
How many of you guys are in the Seattle/Tacoma(or just the Puget Sound) area? And where do you guys normally play?
Any of you guys play at Goldies or Drift on Inn on Aurora? Red Dragon? Crazy Moose?
I've seen quite a few posts by people who play at Lil's, Muckleshoot and Tulalip...but I want to get an idea of how many of you play in the smaller B&M...cuz sometimes while sitting at a table I will notice someone who might be a Poker literati...who also probably posts here.

I used to play at kenmore, silver dollars mill creek and renton, tulalip and the muck.

Now I'm almost exclusively playing a random game at lil's.

I just moved up here to Mill Creek. When I play live it'll almost always be at Tulalip in large part because it's non-smoking.

I've only been up there twice sine I moved up here ~a month ago. The only person I've met is some rich older guy who's apparently there all the time who I talked with about possible starting up a regular HU game.

Most of the higher players know of Mr Lee. I heard he was playing up north now.

As a side note, with GoT back in town that's going to make the local game a little tougher.

Welcome back.

I used to play at Goldie's maybe 4 times a week during a four month stretch last year. I moved to Portland, but my fiancee is up there still and I pop my head in there every now and then. I love their staff, probably the #1 reason I stuck to them. If I were still up there regularly, though, I might be more inclined to hit the 6-12 at Hollywood, I've heard it's quite juicy...

mike4bmp
10-17-2005, 01:43 AM
I would play at Hollywood to...but the same people that play at Drift and Parkers play there. I don't like the people who play at those rooms...at least the ones that have been playing there recently....everyones gone over to Red Dragon or Goldies.

[/ QUOTE ]

I haven't been to the Red Dragon yet, but I tend to avoid the Parkers-Drift-Hollywood Triangle. Its completely irrational, but I'm like 1 for 15 at Parkers, and while Hollywood does have a juice 6/12 game, I can do better at 10/20 at Tulalip or the Muck AND with less stress from the crowd, who aren't all that much fun to spend an evening around.

10-17-2005, 02:52 AM
I'm not a 2+2 poster (1st post) I'm just a lurker...
I play almost exclusively at Wizards in Burien south of Seattle. (4-8)

Has anyone played the 10-20 at Midway on pac highway?

I play at the Muck a few times a month, usually in the 20/40 game, although, I'm considering starting to play in the 30/60. I play in the 4/8 and 10/20 when waiting to get into the 20/40 game.

Ocasionally, I will play 20/40 or NL at Tulalip... but imo, the games *much* better at the Muck. However, GoT, please stay up at Tulalip. /images/graemlins/smile.gif

I live in shoreline and I'm a regular at club hollywood, parkers, goldies, tulalip and muckleshoot.

Not sure what the gripe is with hollywood. the 6/12 or 8/16 game is usually very good. especially right after the nightly NLHE tourney.

Haaaaaa

I laughed so hard at this I just sprayed milk all over the monitor. Jeez, who in their right mind has ever heard of $10 cheques. Nickles and Quarters only, and yes most of them can't declare a 3 bet, they just keep stacking nickles until they get there. I normally estimate what they are doing by looking at my watch.

15 seconds of stacking is just a call.
30 seconds is maybe a raise or a call with some thinking.
45 seconds they are definetly trying to find enough nickles to raise.
60 seconds they have fallen asleep waiting for the other three people in front of them to call.

Hey, does anyone car to elaborate on their dislike for the Parkers/Hollywood/Drift triumvirate? I go to the Muck occasionally but being a Seattlite it is just so much easier to hit the Aurura card rooms. Over the past 6 weeks I have been having a great time taking money from drunken players at the Parkers 4-8, so I guess I have no reason to not really like them. Plus the odds are 50-50 that someone gets escorted out of the 8-16 game shortly after last call (hmmm, this might be why people don't want to play there).

Parkers I don't like the floor guy, and don't really like the dark, creepy parking lot (or the single guys who sit in idling cars next to the strip club... oi, its creepy). I've actually never been to the Drift, but I imagine its about the same. Hollywood I just don't find myself enjoying the people, and don't find the 6/12 to be terribly exciting. All three of them share the "bingo players anonymous" syndrome that I can't get a handle on, either /images/graemlins/smile.gif

I'm in Snoqualmie, but work in Kent -- so when I play live (which is rare nowadays), I generally hit the Silver Dollar in Renton.

I used to go to the Great American in Kent every so often, but haven't been there for a long time. Haven't been to the Muck for a while, either, but I'm hoping to start playing live a little more.

I'm a big guy with a baseball cap and a red goatee, and I've usually got some sort of WSU-related clothing on. (Yes, even after the choke job this weekend against UCLA.)

I don't know. To me, "Couging it" has always been about finding some idiotic way to lose a game -- kind of like the Minnesota-Wisconsin game this past weekend.

The Cougs this year simply don't know how to close out a game. They've played poorly in the second half of their losses (and the entire Stanford game). They're just not a good enough team to win in the Pac-10 right now.

You won't hear me talking about "Couging it," though, until they do something like miss a 22-yard field goal in OT and lose to the Huskies.

Which is entirely plausible.

I don't know. You don't think 3 str8 personal fouls penalties for 45 yards when they were ahead late in a game was couging it? /images/graemlins/wink.gif

This is mostly because our offense and offensive playcalling can't put together long clock killing drives.

Also because Mike Levenseller is evil and should be burned in public to make a point.

You've got a bit of a point there.

I had repressed that drive, hoping to never remember it again. Part of it was that we thought those calls were BS. Because, you know, when you're sitting on the 10-yard-line, you've got the best angle on all the calls. /images/graemlins/grin.gif

The PI was weak, the roughing was weak. Frampton's hit was horrible.

Let's also not talk about waisting 20 seconds at the end of the game where we likely could have got into field goal range.

[/ QUOTE ]

The only one i really dislike is parkers. Though I regularly play the 8/16 on the weekends.

I don't like it because of collusion, implicit or otherwise, as well as the floor people making ridiculous rulings that favor regulars and scare off new players. Also, the food isn't very good.

I play maybe once or twice a month at Goldies or more recently at Red Dragon. Both are decent rooms, though the staff is better at Goldies.

I played Parker once, but the crowd was just a bit too rowdy for my tastes.

Also just last month I went to Hollywood for the first time. Was there for dinner, so didn't play, but I saw what must've been the best 6/12 game north of LA. Hmm...I ought to go there to play soon.

The only call I feel comfortable bitching about -- having only seen these plays live -- was the PI. That ball was uncatchable. And of course, you're right about the 20 seconds wasted. We were screaming in the stands, "What the hell are you doing?"

What years were you at WSU? (I'm just assuming, because the Cougs are generally not a team someone unaffiliated would pick to root for.)

Hmm, I'm making my monthly trip to seattle (office) and was thinking of playing at parkers tomorrow night. Either that, omaha at lil's, or the tourney at the muck if I get out of work in time (I think it runs on tuesdays?)

[/ QUOTE ]

The Muck has No Limit tourneys every Mon, Tues, Wed, & Thurs.

The Monday and Thursday tourney is a $45 buy-in, $20 re-buy, $20 add-on.
The Tuesday tourney is a $110 buy-in, no re-buys.
The Wednesday tourney is a $135 buy-in, no re-buys, buy-in includes a $25 bounty.

EDIT: btw - Tulalip has a $60 Omaha8 High/Lo tourney at 7 PM on Tuesdays and a $110 Thursday NL tourney.

[/ QUOTE ]

They must have changed their schedule. I thought the tournaments were just on Tuesday and Thursday, Tuesday: $110 with $100 rebuy and Thursday: $45 with unlimited $20 rebuys for the first hour.

I'll need to head up there, haven't been to the Muck for 3 months now.

I used to live in Wallingford (now live between Redmond, Bothell and Sammamish...Work, home and girlfriend's place) and play online 90% of the time. When I do make it out, it's either to Goldie's, Tulalip, Muck and sometimes Parker's.

I'm definitely up for a 2+2 meeting (forgive me, I haven't read the entire thread yet).

And...with all this UW/WSU talk (just graduated from UW last year) anyone think we'll cover the 30 point spread against USC? I've got tickets.
