One of us says push. The other says fold. This opponent was probably on the tight side.

I say push.. but this could probably be settled with some simple SNGPT if you two can agree on a range.

without doing any math I say its a very close call. probably even EV play.

Even if you put the BB to call top 50%, it's still slightly higher EV to push. And I would say top 30% is more realistic.

Yea, ok, I've been automucking here. I guess this explains why my distribution is 14/10/15 percentage wise. Learn something new every day.

BTW, remind me to start calling you [censored]s more.

Push. If he's a little on the tight side, there's no way he's calling here enough to make a push -EV.

10-16-2005, 05:22 PM
How did you decide this? Very few plays are even EV.

10-16-2005, 05:41 PM
Super easy push for me here

Yeah, off the top of my head this doesn't even look close at all... have you run this through SNGPT? If you're not pushing this I bet you're missing alot of other pushes.

I push. I know it sounds ridiculous, but 9 high makes a difference here. There is a very good chance that you won't be facing two overcards. Good enough that it makes this a push.

If he has the maniac default calling range my EV is +1.0%... blah...

Without firing up SNGPT, I imagine this is a clear push. One thing I've been noticing since playing with SNGPT is how many of these types of pushes I've been missing.

This really is one of the most insignificant factors in the hand. I imagine your equity barely changes if you're given 32o.

For maniac call range in sngpt you go from +1.0% to +0.6%.

Not necessarily, if villian knows I am pushing any two and calls accordingly it stops being +EV to push 32o.

Thank your for that. I'm a little surprised to be honest. So thank you for pointing it out. When I think about it, it makes sense, but I think it still is one of the less important factors in your decision. The situation is the reason you're pushing.

EDIT: As an aside, I think the change from 96o to 32o becomes less important as calling ranges shrink. It is therefore more relevant when the villain is on maniac (which I think is the right setting in this hand). This is just off the top of my head, but I think it should be correct.
