I'm curious, because they seem to get negative reviews in the "unhappy people" thread.

honestly, I just think they're disgusting disease traps. Its rare that someone keeps them clean and even then they don't really clean it. I'll stick to the hand rolled stuff thank you very much.

i clean mine once a week. it is all glass and insanely nice. i can say ive never smoked out of anything that i enjoy even half as much as my bong. especially when you get ice involved. its all about keeping it sanitary and then it is an incredibly clean, potent way of smoking <3.

My sister cleans hers every time she uses it. I can't suggest it any other way unless you're an every day user, in which case you could probably go a couple days without cleaning it. I can't stand the smell of a used bong, and it affects the taste of the weed too.

Bongs are alright, but I prefer doobies.

This is semi-unrelated, but I ordered THE VOLCANO two days ago. I will post a trip report.

I loved 'em in my smoking days. They make the smoke much less harsh.

But I do like the ones that are big enough so you aren't likely to get water splashing you.

240. and no its not a "real" roor, but it didnt profess to be. the downstem and bowl are made by roor. the waterpipe itself is custom made by my local glass blower. it is 9 cm thick and had to be custom made. i <3 it. and yes i use ice and ice water. it cools the smoke down more. making it easier on the lungs.

I haven't smoked the herb for years, but when I did, I quit using bongs because I developed a smokers hack, which went away when I swithced to joints. Bongs make very efficient use of weed, because you pretty much inhale all of the smoke, and they produce a very concentrated smoke. However, I think that concentrated smoke may be harder on the lungs than the less concentrated smoke produced by a joint. This is, of course based on one person's subjective experience, and therefor not scientificly provable.
