I mean cmon, every other post is how to set up 4 tables no over lap, what monitors, what video cards, what laptops etc. PLZ someone do this for the forum. I dont know anything about it...in fact, one of the posts is mine...

Maybe there is no sticky because it would practically eliminate the usage of this forum.

You are not the first to want that... I am also fed up with the same questions over and over again.

Those explain how many tables will fit on 1600*1200 and how you calculate how many will fit on any given resolution.

If i get the time i'll try and condense a few of these into a sticky this weekend.

Anything else you think needs to go in one?

Yeah, 512mb of ram is enough for most thíngs (you can 8 table without even using 300mb total), 1gb is ok if your computer is on the higher end. 2gb is just waste of money unless you are building a workstation for very specific use like 3D modelling, video editing and such, never on a computer for mostly playing poker.

Choice of computer: If you are just gonna play a few tables and no background stuff running (like datamining) any new comptuer will do.

I would like to see a few video card recommendations, or at least some criteria for what to look for. Basically, will any card of the correct type for your motherboard (PCI-express, AGP, PCI, etc.) and with the correct outputs (dual DVI, DVI+VGA) work for 2 displays at 1600x1200? Should I just pick the cheapest one? How much video memory should I look for? What does it mean when it says "Supporting 256mb"? What chipset should I get (if it even matters)?

I know that the answers will be somewhat different if people plan to use the card for gaming as well, but answers to these questions as they relate to poker only would be nice. It would make things much easier for me, and surely for others as well.

Video card info would be greatly appreciated.

Why not just sticky the monitor FAQ by AncientPC?

I would like to know what ptracker demands. Ie what will improve performance most, more ram or faster cpu. This is for datamining and 8-tabling.
