$100-$200 or $200-$400 limit hold'em

Are those the biggest games you can find on the internet? I saw a guy sitting there with 20K waiting for a player. LOL
There was a nice $50-$100 table playing. I saw a guy win 2K with a flush. The bets were capped preflop. Lots of actions. It must feel great to win $2000 in one single hand.
After I clean my bonus at stars and cash out at empire I'll try ladbrokes. I hear the tournaments are really good to win some money.
I like the interface. The table is huge. The cards are small, but the seats look fancy.
Why are Americans not allowed there? And why do they play with dollars? Kinda weird.

It is strange that Americans can't play at Ladbrokes but they structure their games in American Dollars. As for winning money, Ladbrokes is great, but it is very, very slow. I think the last time I mentioned this MS Sunshine made the comment poker is about winning money not playing lots of hands an hour. So I guess it's not important.

There was once a $50-$100 blind PLO game on one of the smaller sites (24h, maybe? I'm not sure); I'm not sure if it went more than once.

PS Hung when you say the tournaments are good, d'you mean the 1-table ones? Or have they started multi-table ones? If it's the one-table ones, d'you know what the structure is like?

Americans aren't allowed because the terms of its licence (based in Gibraltar, I think) forbids it from taking customers from places where such activity is illegal; I guess the law deems the US one such place (though I understand it's seen as a grey area in US law).I assume they deal in dollars because people from all over the world can play, and most people are familiar with dollars.

The main problem with Ladbrokes (unless you're American /forums/images/icons/smile.gif ) is the speed. However I received a letter from Ladbrokes saying that they are upgrading their software and that the new site should be a lot faster.

Thanks.

I haven't played there yet. So I don't know if the tournies are soft. But I heard they are. I'm gonna check it out and I'll repport it. I have to clear my bonuses first.

at the moment Ladbrokes tournaments are all single table affairs. They are planning to introduce multi-table tournaments in the near future.

Dom, I haven't recieved any emails from Ladbrokes regarding this - have they upgraded from their old software? I didn't think the old software I associate with ladbrokes had the capability for multi table tourneys.

It seems to me Victor Chander has gone ahead and created competition in the UK based online poker market - multi tables, freerolls, micro NL/PL....once Victor Chandler's traffic increases (which it will, the site is a class act), it should take over Ladbrokes as the premier place to play as a UK/international resident.

Don't forget there is Intercasino and WilliamHill (Cryptlogic platform) as well. Cryptologic offers games in Pounds and Euros and has high limit tables as well. Holdem table Sabine is $100-$200, Salmon had £100/£200 limits, and others.

UltimateBet gets $100-$200 1on1 games. And WSEX used to often have $100-$200 and higher limit holdem and 1on1 games. However, since WSEX switched to new software I haven't seen these high limit games. I wonder if those high limit games will be coming back there.

WSEX has new software? Man I am way out of whack. As for will hill, I always just thought he was another bookmaker buying out the old prima poker software and running a generic poker room. I never thought of that room as being real competition for the European's poker $.

It won't be if they continue with only limit games. PL and NL are more popular over here, kinda strange that they didn't bring that in straight away...
