As someone who is basically shopping for an affiliate - and getting some offers - it is real difficult to figure out who is reputable and trustworthy. It would be great to get recommendations from people who are not affiliates themselves, and don't actually have something to gain by making a recommendation.

I can get affiliates to send references, but who can tell how unbiased those references actually are?

Is there any way for non-affiliates to record comments here about trusted affiliates in some organized fashion? My guess is that the answer is "no," but thought I'd ask anyway.

People are free to PM me some recommendations. Yet, I suppose there's still no way for me to know whether the person is really an associate of the affiliate.

There is no real way to do this. Any affiliate who wants to scam you will just make millions of dummy accounts saying hes a good guy. You should ask you friends who they are with... generally the big guys are safe, they did not get big scamming people, but rather by providing a top service.

good luck in your search.

its likely those most visible in this forum who are moderators, *likely* provide a good service.

I would not know from experience.

In each Welcome Post we make for A/R forum advertisers(see here (http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/showflat.php?Cat=&Number=3669563&page=0&view=colla psed&sb=5&o=&fpart=1) and here (http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/showflat.php?Cat=&Number=3668290&page=1&view=colla p)sed&sb=5&o=&fpart=1) ), we encourage players to post their experience with each affiliate, good or bad.

These threads could turn into the resource you're looking for. It depends on whether players want to take the time to help other players with their decision.
