I was playing in my 1st hold-em tournament, $30 buy-in with 4 $10 re-buys.

The usual $3-$6 crowd, at least 1 maniac, several weak callers, some fairly decent players

Blinds are 300-600 (I think, this was about a year ago), and I have KcJc

Middle position at a full table and by the time it got to me there were
2 raises. I folded.

Flop was K-J-x, turn was x, river was K, which would have won me a large pot.

Was folding the correct play? /forums/images/icons/confused.gif

(I finished in the final 3, in #2 chip position, we cut a deal for the money, just under $500 for me /forums/images/icons/grin.gif

That's what I thought. I get too caught up in results sometimes.

Can you think of a scenario where it would have been correct to play those cards in the face of a couple raises?

(e.g.Later position with a couple of callers between me & the raise?)

If you were to play those cards after a couple of raises they would have to be desperation bets. Say 2 shortstacks go all in and you have a healthy chip advantage or the chip lead.

Or if you were in the BB, no EP limpers, a shortstack goes all in, and the button raises with the SB folding. You could probably put the button on 2 mediocre cards who is going for a shot at the raiser heads up. He would have to be pretty loose for you to make this play with any confidence. KJ is way too dominated otherwise.
