i know preflop questions are frowned upon, but i'm developing an addicted love to play these hands and need help

limit: 2/4 6-max.

table: loose/passives
hands like K9s, T8s, J9s.

so i'm sitting at a table where players cold call with anything really and not a lot of preflop raising (at least very few 3-bets) and no isolation raises.

i know i'm not supposed to limp these from UTG/MP, but are these table conditions ripe for these kinds of hands to play or is it still raise/fold territory?

Do you have poker tracker? Filter for limping pre-flop and see how these hands perform.

I would play K9s, given the table condition I think we can limp it. I would raise from MP/CO though.

unfortunately i'm playing at Titan right now and the guys at pokertracker say there isn't enough interest to include it in the list of supported sites /images/graemlins/frown.gif

If you got a table full of passive calling stations and very little preflop raising (10% or less) AND they call anyways then you can in some cases. Also if its practically guaranteed 5-8 to the flop every hand then drawing hands can be played up front.

I would probably play 78s+, Axs, any pair, and 2 paint suited. You want hands that have tons of equity compared to the callers. Hands that can make big draws. Kxs I would not, nor many 2-3 gappers. Its easier to get counterfeited with 2-3 gappers suited connectors.

Online I know you CAN'T do that with 2/4 or better. Havent player 1/2 or .5/1 lately so I can't tell you there. Live its different. I hear stories of 4/8 games that everyone limps. Even 10/20 is soft. But these games are rare. Here in Florida the indian casinos only have 1/2. I only play it for fun and too relax. The one thing I do like about it is that you can play so many hands. Almost everyone sees the flop and rarely is it raised. But with so many callers I can win one big pot per hours. Makes up for it thought when you know how to bet.

EXAMPLE: 8 people to the flop and I have the nut draw, I CAP it. I don't care what anyone else has. I really have to feel that there is a flush draw and a set against any straight draw I have to slow down. I think that equates to I have a 1:7 chance of winning without redraws with a staight and the flush and set out there.

I even see people limping with AK. basically if someone raises in these games they got AA-QQ only most of the time. Well my experience.

With so many players calling raises they hate raising with AK. Thinking it cant win vs so many callers. What these peole dont understand is pot equity for that hand.

In 6 max, remember that high card strength is magnified and suitedness is diminished. K9s you can open raise with , but hands like J9s and T8s are highly diminished unless you can be assured for a 4 way or more.

That would be sweet to see a 6-max table averaging 5-8 players to the flop!

Definitely get PT.

After player sever thousand hands you will see in the typical games where suited connectors stand. How they hold up and where you make money from them. In many situations, if I remember correctly, suited connectors will be -money. But this is counting blinds. Removing blind money will show a different picture. Blinds are forced bets so you have no control over them.

In a normal game the suited connectors want tons of callers with position so that if it hits you can get a free card, or build a pot for yourself, or easily fold to action ahead of you. And yes there is a huge difference between 0, 1, and 2 gap suited connectors as is Kxs and Axs.

Oh was this for 6 max? oops. Hey it should be in the SH section then.

Totally correct. You play SH like the 1st 4 (assume 6 player game) folded to you. So every opening hand is from MP2.

Yeah, but in HUSH they tend to not pay much attention to stuff below 5/10.

I think HUSH will give the same answer, K9s is playable, the others are slim at best.
