NL200 Fullring game at pokerrooom, no real reads played about 15-20 hands on table. Seems like table is filled with manaics and $70-100 pots with top pair are not uncommon.

I'm sitting with pkt J/images/graemlins/diamond.gifJ/images/graemlins/spade.gif

PRE-FLOP
UTG bets $9.60, 2 folds, MP2 calls $9.60, 3 folds Hero calls $9.60, 2 folds

FLOP [board cards J/images/graemlins/club.gif,3/images/graemlins/club.gif,7/images/graemlins/heart.gif ] pot ($30)
villain1 bets $20, villain2 calls $20, Hero bets $60, villain1 folds, villain2 calls $40.

TURN [board cards J/images/graemlins/club.gif,3/images/graemlins/club.gif,7/images/graemlins/heart.gif,A/images/graemlins/heart.gif ] pot ($170)

Whatever lets you get it in by the river.

edit: Did not notice it was villain 2 who called the raise. I'll go ahead and make it $100. I also raise th flop to $70.

Bet the largest that you think he'll call. His play smells a bit like a flush draw, so he probably won't pay you off on the river. About $100-$140 seems right.

Bet $120. You have to charge flush draws here and the ace may of helped his hand.

Hand reading isn't too important vs these types of opponents.

Pot is big, protect it and just push.

My thoughts were the same as you guys on what hand he could have. At least I can know that I'm not alone with my thoughts. The only thing I like about my hand is that I played it the best way possible.

My action on the turn was to push all in for the last $115. Villain 2 thought for a little while and called with AA for 3 of a kind aces. /images/graemlins/shocked.gif

I always thought set over set was very rare but I've actually got burnt by it 10 times in the last 3 weeks. /images/graemlins/confused.gif

I wonder what he thought about - he has the mortal nuts going to the river. /images/graemlins/shocked.gif

I empathize - it's hard not to go broke with set over set. I especially like Harrington's remark in HOH about it... (I don't have it handy so can't post the exact quote...)
