hi all. longtime lurker, first real post.

have just relocated to bay area, and have been sitting at 3/6 at oaks a bunch recently. any 2+2ers play here, any thoughts on the venue, the game, other good bay area spots?

Yeah, 6-12 is easier. Oaks players no good. Chasing goes down enough in 6-12 to make it a better game in my opinion. Less variance, but I've still with a loose player calling my ace high down witha king high. I haven't played there a ton, but I've already found plenty of consistently losing players with obvious weaknesses to an alert observer.

Try the wonton soup and sandwiches. Avoid their Chinese food. It's bad.

I've consistently heard that Lucky Chances is the best card room in the area.
I've played at Bay 101, Casino San Pablo and California Grand Casino as well in the past week.
None of the no limit games nor the 6-12 games are difficult.

Oaks has the worst dealers with the most screwups though it's not completely out of control. Oaks is also the only cardroom amongst the ones I've been to that require you to post if you change seats or just join a game (you do have to pay at all places to buy the button if you start at the SB).

There's more gamble at CSP, probably because it also has a casino. Some players there are not even really card players.

California Grand is the most crowded, but also has the most attractive women. Had to wait about 2 hours for the no limit game, but not that long for 6-12.

PM me with a cell phone number if you're interested in meeting up sometime.

I'll be going to Lucky Chances soon after returning from out of town (leaving tonight), probably within a week.
