pretty cool. I wish the 60 gig was as small as the 30 , or I'd get it. (and I just bought a nano)

I was really close to breaking down an buying a Nano even though I have a 15 gig (old school) iPod that treats me just fine. I'm glad I didn't, because I definitely am going to get this.

Furthermore, I just found out a relative (who broke the news to me about this) does temp work for Apple, and may be able to get me a 25% discount.

the only thing that interests me about this is the possibility of sanctioned internet distribution of broadcast televsion shows (even if it's cripppled/drm-d)

the thing is, the best application of this - for me - would be carrying this tiny device in my pocket, so I can watch movies on a plane, without dealing with my laptop. but do you really want to watch anything on a 2.5 inch screen?

the real nice feature i think is the video-out the new ipods have. so you can download movies (illegally of course /images/graemlins/smile.gif ), and put em on your ipod and just plug that into your tv.

You needed to read that post to realize I'm a nerd? Figured the username and avatar would be enough of a tip off, mister cat with a helmet made out of some sort of a fruit rind.

One doesn't necessarily have to be a nerd to appreciate the greatest graphic novel ever produced.

As opposed to straining your eyes to view the 7" monitor five rows up when sitting in a plane?

A laptop screen is just about right for watching movies on a plane/bus. I don't see a ton of utility for this beyond like "look at this cute movie of my kid/lesbian porn I downloaded earlier".

No. The 17" widescreen sitting on the fold-down tray in front of me. Or, if you're flying on Frotier, then you get DirecTv (or PPV movies) on the approx. 5" screen on the back of the seat in front of you.

ABC Series - Lost / DH etc. available for download $1.99 / episode (available after night of airing, library available)

1) What % of Video Ipod owners download eps?
2) I think they're producing 5M units for this launch. Is there a penetration level of Video Ipod that would suggest to you that DVD sales of downloadable TV Series would be negatively impacted?

Yeah, I'm sure that compressed video is going to look great when I blow it up on my 32" HDTV.

Just saw this on CNN. I'm not sure it's as good - I mean now I listen to audiobooks and music while doing things that require my vision. I don't see watching a video fitting in - unless I'm at home - where I have a TV.
