Hey,

I'm relatively new to SNG play but wasn't 100% sure what to do here. It's probably easy so don't rip into me.

Both players seemed relatively weak given the shorthandedness. BB was hardly active at all and not involved in any raised pots. SB was minraising a lot preflop but folding instantly to all-ins.

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t200 (3 handed) pokerhand.org hand converter (http://www.pokerhand.org)

SB (t3496)
BB (t5410)
Hero (t4594)

Preflop: Hero is Button with A/images/graemlins/spade.gif, 9/images/graemlins/heart.gif.

EDIT: This is a $5+.50.

Standard 3xBB raise to 600. What else would you do?

I raised around there, I was wondering if pushing had any merit here though.

Raise whatever amount seems normal. Fold to a non-min reraise.

Stacks are too big, IMHO.

None. Only hands that are ahead of you will call, given the tightness of the table.

In general, you want to bet the minimum amount necessary to accomplish your goal, which in this case, is to win the blinds.

Once the stacks get short (<10BB), you might as well push if you are going to raise. But that's not the case here. The search function can give you more insight into this guideline if you are curious.

Moving in is sketchy and isn't too bad though these are the types of pushes that you should try to avoid. At best it is very thin and holds a lot of inherent varience. Raising to some amount less then all-in is certainly the best play here, but I would fold since I don't really like pushing here. /images/graemlins/smile.gif
