View Full Version : Help: Check my PT stats, any advice for a beginner?

10-12-2005, 01:00 AM
Hey folks.

I'm playing full ring low limit poker. Apparently I'm pretty bad and I'm asking you guys to take a quick look at my PT player stats here: http://67.165.96.250/poker1.jpg, and to give me some pointers in improvement.

My strategy is to play preflop and postflop, and to be aggressive, only checkraising or slow playing with something near nuts.

Why did you blot out everything involving your hand count? It's obviously a very small sample anyway...I'm just curious.

Is this a joke? It looks like you commented out the number of hands everytime it's mentioned. Did you pull this over 100 hands or something?

Over those hands you should have raised more preflop and been more aggressive postflop.

Not a joke fellas. I'm blotting out my hands because i'm paranoid about my identity. I can say the count is not anywhere near 100k...

But ASIDE from the hand count...I want your opinions. Thanks!

The first thing I see is that you play too much out of the Small Blind. Worst position on the table, learn to fold more there. This is a leak.

I'm blotting out my hands because I have fewer total hands than most of you play in a day, and I don't want everybody telling me that my sample size is too small. I can say the count is not anywhere near 1k...

FYP.

And the sample size is still too small to make stat analysis worth even attempting.

If sample was any greater than 200 hands, you'd probably at least have 1 attempt on your blind.

.50/1 stats go in micros (http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/postlist.php?Cat=&Board=micro)

I'm guessing these stats are over like 500 hands or something. Folded to river bet exactly 50%? Never folded to a blind steal?

btw, how does hiding the number of hands you have played hide your identity?

Play 10k hands and then ask questions.

if i post a similar thread with 30,000 hands would people help out or would i be flamed?

i just started 5/10 - 3,000-5,000? hands or so and just started using poker tracker/HUD so could use a little help.

Am i in the right place? if so i will post my stats when i get home later

thanks

Look at the stats in the thread MyTurn2Raise provided. If you still have questions on something, go ahead and ask. You should be aware, though, that stats posts are common and repetitive here (we have at least a couple every week) and stats by themselves are not that useful at isolating specific problems (though they certainly can lead you in the right direction). As a result, people are not very tolerant when one based on a small sample comes along and are even less tolerant when the poster seems to be trying to hide the sample size for no good reason. You are actually a bit lucky you got more than "use the search function".
